About Audio Brissy and this policy
Audio Brissy (ABN 28 552 315 461) is a mobile car audio and 12V installation business based in Stafford, Queensland and servicing Brisbane. You can contact us at Audiobrissy@gmail.com or 0406 653 984.
We respect your privacy and aim to handle personal information fairly, transparently and securely. We do not sell, rent or trade customer personal information. Where the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles apply to Audio Brissy, we will comply with those requirements. We also use this policy as our standard for responsible information handling where those laws may not apply.
You may make a general enquiry without giving your full identity where practical. We will usually need your name and contact details to prepare a vehicle-specific quote, arrange an installation, issue an invoice or provide warranty support.
Information we may collect
- your name, phone number, email address and preferred contact method
- your suburb, postcode, installation address or workplace location
- vehicle year, make, model, registration or VIN where needed for compatibility
- the service requested, approximate budget, equipment details and preferred timing
- photos or videos of the vehicle, dashboard, wiring or installed equipment
- quotes, bookings, invoices, payment status, warranty matters and service history
- messages, feedback, complaints and other communications with us
- basic technical information generated when you use our website, such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, and date and time.
We generally do not need sensitive information. Please do not send health information, identity documents, financial account credentials or other sensitive material unless it is genuinely required and we have asked for it.
How we collect information
We usually collect information directly from you through our website quote form, telephone, SMS, email, WhatsApp, social media, in-person discussions, quotes, invoices and service records. We may also receive information from a person you authorise, a fleet or business customer, a product supplier, a vehicle integration provider, a payment provider or a warranty provider.
The website quote form prepares a message for the contact channel you select. Except for photos uploaded as described below, the form details are sent when you complete the message in WhatsApp or your email application.
How we use your information
- respond to enquiries and prepare vehicle-specific quotes
- check vehicle, product and installation compatibility
- schedule, perform, document and follow up installations
- contact you about bookings, delays, variations and support
- process invoices, payments, refunds and warranty requests
- manage customer service, complaints, safety and business records
- prevent misuse and maintain the security and reliability of our website
- meet tax, accounting, legal, insurance and regulatory obligations.
We use information for the purpose for which it was collected, a related purpose you would reasonably expect, a purpose you consent to, or where required or authorised by law.
Vehicle and dashboard photo uploads
When you select photos in the quote form, the website uploads them to temporary storage before opening WhatsApp or email. The generated message contains hard-to-guess links that allow Audio Brissy to view the photos and prepare your quote.
Those links stop working after 7 days. Anyone who receives a valid link during that period can view the relevant photo, so please do not upload unrelated personal information and do not forward the links unnecessarily. If you need a photo removed sooner, contact us and provide the quote reference where available.
We will seek your permission before using an identifying customer or vehicle image for advertising, social media or other promotional purposes. Where reasonably practical, we avoid displaying registration plates or other identifying details.
Sharing and overseas processing
We disclose only the information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose. Recipients may include product suppliers or manufacturers, vehicle integration and warranty providers, payment and invoicing providers, website hosting and secure-storage providers, email and communications services, professional advisers, insurers, and government or regulatory bodies where required or authorised by law.
Some communications, social media, hosting, storage or payment services may process or store information outside Australia. Provider locations can change and it may not be practical to identify every country in advance. Where the Privacy Act applies, we take the steps required for overseas disclosures. You can contact us for current information about the providers relevant to your enquiry.
We may also disclose information with your consent, to prevent a serious threat to safety, to investigate suspected unlawful activity, or as otherwise permitted by law.
Card and payment services
Where you choose card payment, Afterpay or another electronic payment method, the transaction is processed by the relevant payment provider, such as Square or Afterpay. Audio Brissy does not retain your complete card number or card security code. Payment providers handle that information under their own privacy policies and security practices.
We may retain transaction references, amounts, dates, invoice details and payment status for customer service, accounting, tax, refund and dispute purposes.
Website information and external services
Our hosting and security providers may automatically log technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, date and time, and error or security events. We use this information to operate, secure and improve the website.
Our website links to services including Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. When you open those services, their own privacy policies and settings apply. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites or applications.
Marketing and communication choices
We may contact you about your enquiry, quote, booking, installation or support request. We will only send promotional communications where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law.
You can ask us to stop promotional messages at any time by using the unsubscribe option provided or contacting us. Service, safety, booking, invoice and warranty communications may still be sent when reasonably necessary.
Security, retention and data incidents
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to a small mobile installation business. These include limiting access to information, using reputable service providers and protecting temporary photo links from ordinary public discovery. No electronic system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep information only as long as reasonably required for the purpose collected, ongoing support and warranty history, accounting and tax records, dispute handling, insurance and legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete, destroy or de-identify it.
If a data incident occurs, we will investigate and take appropriate containment and remedial action. Where the Privacy Act and Notifiable Data Breaches scheme apply, we will meet the relevant assessment and notification requirements.
Access, correction and privacy complaints
You may ask what personal information we hold about you or request a correction by emailing Audiobrissy@gmail.com. Please describe the information concerned. We may need to verify your identity before providing access or making a correction, and legal exceptions may apply.
If you believe we have mishandled your information, contact us with the details of your concern. We will acknowledge the complaint, investigate it fairly and respond within a reasonable time. If the Privacy Act applies and the concern remains unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
You can request a copy of this policy in another reasonably accessible form by contacting us. We may update the policy when our services, providers, information-handling practices or legal obligations change. The latest version and update date will appear on this page.
